Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a 6 foot sunflower plant that had only one bud and a squirrel destroyed the bud. Is there a way I can encourage another bud to develop? Apparently, this plant is from a previous plant that only got one large bud. Thank you.

You may get a side shoot, but typically one the terminal bud on these kinds of sunflowers is damaged or removed, the sunflower will not bloom. Even if you do get a side shoot that blooms, the bloom will be out to the side and will not be as big.
