Sprouting Potato

Have read how to sprout a potato. It says to leave in a window for a long time. Doesn’t say to put in water. It would rot I would think. Do you put in water?

No, you do not put it in water. You place the potato itself in the sunny window and it should begin sprouting within a few weeks.
