Friend or foe? I only found one. Also, why did so many leaves fall off after I sprayed with neem oil?

Friend, I would guess. The only kind of spiders that are troubling to plants are types of spider mites, which are about the size of pin-points. Re: the neem oil, are you sure you followed all the label directions as to mixing, testing, etc?
