Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI would like to grow a Rhododendron in a pot on a windy patio. Would it survive, and if not, what other shrubs would? I have lost so many in the past.
Thanks.

You can grow rhododendron in a windy location, but I would look for a very hardy variety, maybe like the ones suggested in this article: https://extension.missouri.edu/p/g6825 [1] While they are looking at cold, many places in this area are both windy and cold, and these rhododendron are able to handle it.
You can also take a look at these shrubs. They should be able to take the wind:
Buckthorn
Cotoneaster
Gold Euonymus
Gorse
Heather
Hazel
Hornbeam
Privet
Smoke Bush
Snowberry
Yew
Holly
