short larkspur

This is my first year to grow Larkspur. I grew it from seed. It seems to be coming up fine; however, it looks like it’s going to be very short. We’ve had an unusually hot summer, just had 19 days in a row of 90+ temps. Could that be the reason? It’s only about 6 inches tall now and has buds forming at the top. I’m wondering if using the liquid Miracle Grow more will help. Any advice?

Warm temps may have stunted the stem length on your plants.
You can apply a fertilizer at 1/4 strength about 4 weeks after germination.
Use a 12-12-12 balanced formula.
