Scientific Identification of “Creeping Mulberry”

Question

Has anyone heard of “Miniature Creeping Mulberry” or has it ever been officially recognized as a new species, cultivar or a form (manifestation) of an existing type?

“Miniature Creeping Mulberry” can invade a residential blue-grass lawns, staying low, with tiny leaves, with jointed rope-like roots branching below the lawn surface. Two lawns in NE Philadelphia had 9 to 12 foot square areas with this Mulberry form. Several years ago, at an invasive plant conference, an academic professional verified that the specimen I had was “definitely of the Mulberry family” but could not refine the identification further. It resisted several annual applications of lawn broadleaf killer, but was finally eradicated with Roundup (R) and manually pulling out each root rope.
