Sago Palms

I have a very large sago palm. We tried to protect it during the winter, which we always have, but this winter was too much for it. All the leaves are brown. We may have a very few scattered around the plant that are still green, but should we cut them all off to the root ball or is it possibly just gone? It is about 4 feet tall and wide. Thank you.

I would first determine if it was still alive. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/how-to-tell-if-a-plant-is-dead-and-how-to-recover-an-almost-dead-plant.htm [1] If the stem is still alive, it can regrow from the stem, so do not cut it back to the ground.
