sago palm curling

I have a sago plant that I got as a gift and has had three four sets of leaves. I went on vacation and when I got back, all leaves were dead. I cut all and repotted it and now new set of leaves look green and healthy but with very tight curls going under and coming out from side. It is beautiful but does not look like sago. What am I doing wrong?

That is probably caused by an insect called scale. They are very hard to spot on the plant and will look almost like specks of dirt or fuzz on the underside of the leaves. Here is more information on how to treat it:
