Russian Cold Hardy Pomegranate

I have been reading about this cold hardy version of Pomegranate that is supposed to be able to grow in zone 6a. I live in Connecticut. Know anything about this variety and whether or not it can survive here?

My research shows that testing of the Russian Pomegranate had some success with limited exposure to freezing temperatures.
Remember that growing zones are guidelines and weather patterns vary and may affect your planting.
Look at weather trends to make good planting decisions.

I found a report of a real gardener having success in a zone 6 garden, planted on the south side of their home.

You will need to determine if the time and money are worth playing the planting odds! Good luck.
