Rubber Plant-Tree

Will the leaves come back after falling off from possible over watering? Do I need to cut a slit above each notch where the old leaves were? It is putting on new leaves at the top.

If the stems are still healthy, the tree will regrow the leaves, so you do not need to do anything. This article will help:
