Roses in winter

I planted one small rose tree, and another rose bush that’s low to the ground. They were both full grown when I bought them. I planted them in early fall, and I’ve never had roses before. This winter has been relatively mild so far, but it’s starting to get colder. I’m honestly not sure how to tell how they are doing. Are there any precautions I should be taking to protect them?

Here is a link about rose trees as well for you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/learn-more-about-tree-roses.htm [2]

Rose trees, being grafted, creations do not typically do well in cold climates and are many times treated as annuals. It is pretty easy for the top desired part to freeze and die, thus all that is left is the trunk stock rose that is nothing like the grafted on top rose that we bought it for.
