Rhododendron

I have two yellow rhododendron bushes that I planted at the same time in good soil last spring. One is doing great. The other looks like a lost cause. What went wrong? Is there anything I can do? I fertilized them with Hollytone in the spring and this fall.

If you had a freeze recently, this is probably a normal reaction to frost that for some reason has not affected the other plant. The rhododendron will recover from this in the spring.

Also check for the symptoms of root and crown rot as described in this article. If the roots are affected by this, the best option will be to remove the plant so it doesn’t infect the other plant:
