Repotting braided hibiscus tree and bulb fell off. Will this kill the plant?

Tried to send picture, but it wouldn’t attach..it has all new leaves sprouting, prior to repotting, but now has no bulb. Does it need a bulb to grow further, which fell out of pot and broke in half.

Although these don’t grow from a bulb, I believe that I understand what you are saying. The root ball fell off.

Usually, you will get better results planting the root ball than you will the top, although you do lose the braid. Most of the time, this portion of the plant is too large to set good roots, and will die off. The root ball, however, will resprout.
