Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comCleared veg garden which then became weed infested. Laid down layers of wet newspaper and weed control fabric over paper. Lifted fabric and weeds appear to be gone. Should I remove newspaper before spreading new topsoil then grass seed or can I leave paper in place to help prevent future weeds. Not sure grass will grow if I leave paper in place.

If you want to plant seed now, I wouldn’t leave the paper unless it is mostly decomposed. If not, you would need to wait till it breaks down before planting and that could take a few months.
