Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have two very healthy Christmas cacti, one fuchsia and one pink, about 20 years old. They are too big. I can hardly lift them. What can I do to reduce their size considerably? I realize that they might be rather sad if the size reduction is radical.

This article will help you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/cacti-succulents/christmas-cactus/christmas-cactus-pruning.htm [1] In the article, it says that you should not reduce the size by more than 1/3, but you could reduce the size by up to 1/2 and still be ok. It sounds like you need to do some root pruning so that you can put them in a smaller pot. This article will help with that: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/hpgen/prune-roots.htm [2] You can also just try dividing the plants.
