Pruning Outdoor Hibiscuses

I have six small trees that I planted two years ago they were about 6 inches high they’re now about 3 1/2 feet high and have lots of leaves I’m wondering how to prune them to be in the garden and produce the most flowers

Any heavy pruning should be done during dormancy. Unfortunately, I would not do any pruning this late into the year, but this winter and next spring would be good times to prune.
