Pruning Banyan Trees

Our condo association recently had some banyan trees trimmed. These are quite close to our condo buildings, and many touching the palm trees. We are not satisfied with the so-called trimming job. The trailing suckers were left hanging on the trees—very unsightly. Plus, they must be trimmed. They only shaped the canopy of the tree and did nothing to the inside branches or trailing suckers. The trees look a mess! What’s the proper way to trim these trees?

In reading your statement, “…close to our condo building…”, my immediate thought was, inappropriate use of plant material, which is echoed in this link: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/banyan/growing-a-banyan-tree.htm [1] “Growing a banyan tree requires a lot of space, as mature trees become quite large. This tree should not be planted near foundations, driveways, streets or even your home, as its canopy alone can spread quite far.” Sorry, but I find no information on the pruning or trimming of the banyan.
