Pruning for Flowering on a White Butterfly Ginger Plant

I have new white butterfly ginger. They are about three (3) ft high and have some old blooms on the stalks. What do I need to do to keep getting new blooms and not destroy the plant?

Old stems should be pruned back in late winter/early spring. This plant flowers on each season’s growth, so pruning old growth will help encourage new shoots. Remove the stem, leaving a few inches above the ground.
