prune time

I have wax myrtles that are 10 feet tall and we want to cut them back to 6 feet. when is the best time to cut back? Can we cut in late January in eastern nc?

Normally, wax myrtles are pruned after flowering. If you mind sacrificing this spring’s flowers, you can prune on Valentine’s Day in N.C. There is a good tutorial on how to prune correctly from NCSU here: https://chatham.ces.ncsu.edu/2015/02/pruning-trees-and-shrubs-2/ [1]
