Problem with a Schlefflira

Schlefflera Plant overflow water in the base plate is a very rusty red and stained my carpet when I moved it outside. Does the red color mean it is diseased? Is that water poisonous and the plant and container thrown away?

The color is likely from both the soil and water, and them mixing.

You should use a good quality potting soil in your plants.
