You should look at plants used for xeriscaping. They can take high temps and have lower water needs. We have this category about this style of gardening: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/xeriscape/ [1] As for a specific plant, I would recommend Arborvitae. They are heat tolerant and grow quite tall as to provide some shade.
