Ponytail Palm care

I have a Ponytail palm tree. It recently started to have brown tips. I cut the tips off and continue to water once a week as always. This time it had some more brown tips and my husband ripped the leave completed from the plant and now it looks terrible. Has he cause damaged and stress out by Ponytail palm? How can I help my poor plant that looks so bad now?

Ponytail Palms soil should be fairly dry, always check the soil instead of watering on a schedule.
Ponytail Palms also are sensitive to injuries, and the tips of leaves can turn brown. You can trim them as you did, but removing the entire leaves can actually harm the plant.
