plum tree leaves are cracking and drying up

Red plum tree looks sick. Its leaves are drying up and have cracks on them. I have given Miracle Grow but I can’t get things to clear up. It gets enough water. It is only 2 yrs old.

I’m thinking it isn’t getting enough water. Plums are very thirsty and should be watered 2 to 3 times a week 6 inches down through fall. Other environmental and cultural problems are discussed below. Consult your local extension agent for the proper timing and use of chemical fertilizers.
