my seedlings were eaten by worms

I’m new to gardening. My sunflower seedlings started to show up from soil, but they are already eaten by worms. I’m not sure what kind of a worm that was. When I saw it, I picked the worm up and put in the hot water and it eventually died. I’m very worried if my seedlings will grow even after the true leaves were eaten by worms.

Kindly advise me on how to control these pests and help me to grow sunflowers. I appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like cutworms got to your sunflower seedlings. Information on cutworms and how to control these pests can be found here:
