Placing Asparagus Roots

My garden slopes to the north and has a tall tree line to the west and a shorter tree line to the south. Soil is more moist yearly on the north side. Where should I locate my asparagus plot?

This really doesn’t matter as long as you plant in an area suitable for growing asparagus plants, though if too close to trees, the roots (from the trees) could rob your plants of nutrients and water.
