Pine Tree

I recently noticed that there are some newly grown pine trees in my backyard. Some people say they are good for the landscaping, some say they have many problems. Should I cut them out or let them grow? Their locations are in front of back mountain rather far from my house (but sometimes wet area) and near a brook around my yard boundary. Do they look like the same kind of tree? If so, that could be a red flag that they reproduce easily and could populate quickly on your property. Eastern red cedar is one that can reproduce quickly and become a fire hazard due to the volatile oils it contains.

Your zip code shows you are a resident of Alabama so here are university publications about common native trees of Alabama that should help you identify them. Once you know what they are you can decide if they are a desirable tree.
