Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHello, I found your article very informative, but I would like to know how to keep pine twigs (Norway spruce) fresh to make daily tea. My source of spruces is a few miles away and I don’t really want to drive to get them daily, just not ecologically worthwhile. Is there a way to keep them fresh (in a jug of water?), maybe for a week or preserve the needles for tea use in another way? Obviously I;d like to preserve the quality of the needles for as long as possible.

You can cut off the tips of the stems at a 45 degree angle and insert them in a container of water. Do not let the leaves sit in water. You also can set those in the refrigerator. Make sure the sprigs you harvest have not been sprayed with chemicals.
