Peach Tree

My peach tree has a sticky substance somewhat like sap, I guess. It is orange on the inside and dark, maybe black, on the outside. What is it?

Oozing wounds on peach that produce an amber-colored gum may be caused by Cytospora canker, a fungus disease often confused with peach tree borer, which would have a clear colored sap. Here is more information: http://agsci.psu.edu/fphg/stone/diseases/cytospora-canker-of-stone-fruits [1]
