Peace Lily – bumpy leaves

I just bought two Peace Lily plants and both of them have very rough, bumpy leaves (I know they normally have smooth leaves). Every single leaf is like this, even the new growth. Is this a temporary condition caused by something, or possibly the plants are permanently misfigured?

By chance is your Peace Lily a variegated variety?
The plants that have leaf color variation, sometimes white or yellow, can sometimes display a distorted and bumpy leaf.
The plant is actually treated with chemicals to grow and change the leaf color.
Your plant will likely eventually grow smooth leaves.
