Old Asparagus Crowns

I bought some asparagus crowns last year but didn’t get around to planting them. They looked dried and dormant. Will they still grow, or can I assume that they are dead?

It is hard to say for certain but you can always plant them just in case. This article may help determine if the plant is alive or not: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/how-to-tell-if-a-plant-is-dead-and-how-to-recover-an-almost-dead-plant.htm [1]
