Non Flowering Tithonia Diversifolia

I took a cutting of a tithonia diversifolia 2 years ago and it has grown VERY big and has been pruned down to 1.5 meters 3 times – but it has never had a flower. It has very dense foliage It is in full sun and on a well draining slope. How can I encourage flowers?

It may be that there is too much nitrogen in your soil! This will impair flowering. You may be able to offset with a blend that is high in phosphorus and potassium. This can help with soils high in nitrogen.
