Non-Flowering Amaryllis

We have had an Amaryllis on our bathroom windowsill since about 2009. The (2) leaves have twice grown to about 18-20 inches in length, but there’s no sign of a flower. Why?

If you bought it in November, the bud may have been damaged when shipped and just did not grow. If the leaves are healthy, it should bloom again in late summer, when they naturally bloom.
