It should do well. Just maintain the plant well mulched with 2-4” of mulch all year around. And maintain the soil as evenly moist as you can. Your last fertilizer application should be 3 months before your average date of first frost. Most azaleas are deciduous so do not panic if it loses foliage in the fall. In my mild winters, I water them if winter is dry.
