Neighbour’s Sycamore Tree Causing Problems…

Hi, my mum and her nextdoor neighbour have an enormous sycamore tree at the end of their garden. It belongs to the neighbour backing onto them. It’s an absolute nightmare, dropping hundreds of helicopter seeds, twigs and even larger branches into both their gardens, making a total mess, and making it near impossible to enjoy sitting out in their gardens because of the constant fall. Both my mum and her nextdoor neighbour have spoken, and written, to the guy, who’s tree it I’d, bit because it’s at the end of his garden and drops everything in my mum and neighbour’s garden, it obviously doesn’t both him. He just said, feel free to cut it! Clearly, by saying that, he’s saying by all means do something about it at ‘your own’ expense, but I won’t do it and pay for it, despite it being HIS tree! M question is… today, I walked past a house where they’d put netting around the branches of the tree on their side and I noticed that everything that had fallen from the tree had, and was still, dropping onto the street and not in their own garden. Could this be am option for my mum and her nextdoor neighbour? So basically, all the crap from the neighbour at the back’s tree would then theoretically all then fall into HIS OWN garden? If not, is there any legal way to force him to pay for HIS tree to be topped?

Unfortunately, this is something that would warrant contacting the local government in your country. This would fall into legal advice, and we cannot do that, especially that of another country. Being his tree, it may be up to him what happens to it.
