my alocasia does not get new leaves

My alocasia houseplant does not get new leaves. Existing leaves one by one turn brown on edges and then total leaf does. What to do?

My experience with alocasia’s of this type has been less than desirable. They love heat, humidity and light…things I have trouble providing year-around.
