Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in Ohio -it could still freeze. BUlb started growing and is now 43″ tall. I could plant it in my largest planter, and yes, I know it smells, but after the flower does the whole stalk die back, and then it can be planted in the ground? Bulb is about 6″ wide. I have dug this up yearly and I never know what I am doing.

You can plant once the soil reamins above 60 degrees. In your area, the whole plant will die back each year and will need to be wintered indoors.
