Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWould it be OK to only cut half ways down to remove some of the weight and then next summer do a full trim to the ground? I am counting on the stems rising strait up with less weight after I trim half of it. Would it work??

I would say better to stake them, then to cut, according to this article:
