My English Ivy Is Drying Away, Have Had Plant For Quite Some Time. What Can I Do To Save It?

My English Ivy grows in the shade, and nothing has changed…still in the shade but in the last month or so, and after the scorching month of September, it started to look bad. I was wondering if the extreme heat caused it to start drying up. What can I do to save it

Unless more light has become available to the plant, which could cause scorching, then I would suspect one of two things:

Insects can be an issue. This is especially problematic with really small insects, like spider mites. There are many insects that could be the issue.

Another issue could be fungal issues. You may notice other plants around the area suffering as well, but ivy tends to be, somewhat, disease resistant.
