My elephant succulent (Variegated) is losing it’s leaves.

, it feels dry – but I understand I shouldn’t be watering it from November until spring. I have a non-variegated one and this seems happier. They are both in the window, not with direct sunlight, but reasonably bright, perhaps some sun first thing.
Can you advise?

Too much direct sun can cause the leaves to scorch and drop. Perhaps you can set them near the window but not right in it. You can water them sparingly if the leaves are shriveling.
