my areca palm which was flourishing for about 2 years suddenly started producing stunted fronds since last January, and slow growth.

This started to happen with significant leaf loss last January. All the fronds produced since are stunted or are extremely slow to unfurl. There has been no change in growing conditions or situation.

It could be likely that it is in need of fertilization!
