Unfortunately, your photo did not come through. I am unable to assess the damage.
Generally, they only need to be fed when they show signs of deficiency. Feeding during times of other stress will amplify the stress. Depending on the exact damage, and the soil conditions, it could be many issues. These can range from nutrient deficiencies to soil borne infections.
