Mentha Peppermint brown and green branches

I hope I’m not asking a stupid question, but I’m just trying to grow healthy plants. For the first time in my 64 years of life, I tried it and I fell in love with drinking iced peppermint tea, so I bought some Mentha Peppermint about a month ago to grow inside my house at a window that faces south. I haven’t seen any pictures on the internet that show that some branches are green and other branches are a purplish/maroon color. The only pictures that I have seen are of really healthy plants that have nothing but green branches. Some of these purplish colored branches grow up from the ground and some have turned this color about maybe halfway up or three fourths the way up the plant. Do these purple colored branches need to be trimmed off and nurture the just green branches to grow? Has my plant become diseased or is this just the way that it grows and I haven’t been able to see it in any pictures? I can’t find any information on the internet about this either and I don’t know if this is even normal or not.

Unless you're seeing wilting or other signs of disease, I would say that your plant is fine. The purple leaves, if they're healthy, should be just as fragrant and good as the green ones. You may not see it in photos because the purple often is found on the undersides of the leaves.
