Using fresh manure or compost can burn plant roots. There are numerous recipes for making both manure tea and compost tea–far too many to list. Provided the manure or compost has aged somewhat prior to its use, there is no harm in experimenting with different ingredients in order to find one that works for your specific gardening needs.
