Maginata branches with powdery growth

Hi,
I have a 15 year old Dracaena Marginata that I recently bought and it’s living inside. It’s mostly doingw ell except I recently noticed that some of the branches which don’t have any growing stems have powder excreting from them. I cut one of them off and the entire inside was filled with this powdery substance. Can you tell me what this is and how to treat the tree? It seems to only be on “dead” branches where there isn’t any growth.

Although I will be unable to precisely identify this without a photo, I do believe it to be a fungal infection.

It will not, likely, kill the plant unless it receives improper care. Then, this can allow the infection to spread.

For now, you can mix up a solution of water and peroxide at a concentration of about 1/4 peroxide to 3/4 water. Water this in the next time that you need to water. This will kill off the infection. You can also spray this mix onto the areas affected above the soil also.
