Lophophora williamsii help please.

I was gifted a Lophophora williamsii and am struggling with it. The bottom is shriveled andnit seems to be moving upwards. It’s hard. I can’t seem to find snything online to help me. I am desperately teying to save this endangered plant. Any advice is welcome.

My first instinct is to wonder if the roots are getting too much water, but it seems you have the right soil. Check to see whether it's getting too much heat, too much cold or a draft, like from a heater vent. You may want to try to propagate the plants, just in case they are going down for good.
