Lime Tree Dropping Fruit

We planted a lime tree about 3 years ago. In the first season I picked off all the fruit to enable the plant to put its focus into the roots. The following two seasons it has been covered with blossoms and has produced lots of fruit, which got to the size of a small pea before dropping off. The tree is planted in a sheltered raised garden between a lemon tree and a tangelo tree that both flourish. It has good sun, excellent soil (our property used to be an apple orchard, so everything grows like weeds!) and plenty of water. We live in Tauranga and have a very temperate climate, especially our location. The plant looks extremely healthy with dark green foliage and no pest or fungal damage. Perhaps it is too happy? What do you suggest?
