Large Evergreen Removed, Need To Fill The Area With Something

Property is surrounded by three spruce and several deciduous trees on a corner lot. Faces N.E. but gets full sun 70% of the day and is in shade of other trees the balance of time. I do have sprinkler system and some drip options. What would you recommend I use to fill in the space without too much clutter? Tall grasses fill too much space nearby already. Would like flowering or colorful bushes, would rock look good? I live zip 80031 – Westminster, CO. Dead Fir in photo was removed. The bushes shown in 3rd photo could all be removed. Any help, ideas would be welcome.
