Landscaping A Bank?

I have a high bank (about 1.5m) and I need some advice in how to shape it. It’s currently an odd shape and I’m looking to square off the top and straighten the facing side, any advice? My final aim is to cover in control fabric and netting and finish with some type of retaining wall. I’d like a fairly flat top as I want to cover in gravel and pot plants – I need something easy to maintain and do as I am a complete amateur with gardening! TIA

Unfortunately, your photo did not come through. You may require the help of heavy machinery if the area cannot be shaped with a shovel.
