It’s The Last Week Of April In Nashville, Why Hasn’t My Pampas Grass Grown?

Hi, I bought 3 pampas grass plants from Gurneys.com back in March of 2019. I planted them in 3 planters where they grew great all of 2019. I cut them down in December, however it is the last week of April and none of them have sprouted. All the other trees and flowers in Nashville are in full bloom. Why isn’t my pampas growing anymore? Is there a way to revive it?

These need to be cut in Spring, so that the old growth protects the crown over winter. You will prune the grass as it starts to get its new growth in Spring.

Unfortunately, it may have suffered from the frost. This will be especially true for container grown Pampas Grass.

Replanting may be necessary, unfortunately.
