I would not recommend trimming/pruning any shrub or tree while it is raining, or even under any wet or humid conditions. The reason for this is the susceptibility of spreading fungal spores that may be present, which can lead to the ultimate demise of the plant. Therefore, it is better to wait for drier conditions.
